My Three P’s: Passion, Potential and Persistence

by Marie

in Back To Basics

I’m sure you’ve heard of the traditional three P’s - Product, Price and Promotion, and now they’ve added Placement, to make it four P’s. To be honest I think three was fine, and anyway, these three P’s are non-existent without my three P’s: Passion, Potential and PersistenceMy 3 P's.

It’s true that all the original three P’s are essential, but they are all nothing if…your passion and persistence for the products success is not strong. If your product doesn’t have potential, then what’s the point of pricing and promoting it, let alone ‘placing’ it!

You therefore need to ensure that you research the potential of your product or service, and then take some time to visualise bringing your product or service to market – if the thought of carrying out the work to get there does not enthuse you – then it’s a bad sign!

A business is of course not (purposely) a short term thing. You must have the passion and persistence to be seen in the ‘right’ places and show your consumers that you and your service are consistent and reliable; this will ensure that you get the right, long-term customers that you can bring value to, and they can, in-turn, give great value back.

  • Persistence will keep you focused and get you noticed.
  • Passion will give you the drive and determination to get where you want to be
  • The real potential of your service should be recognisable through your research, your promotions and selling points.

Have you got these essential three P’s in your plan? Do you like my three P’s better than the original ones? Your thoughts and ideas are always appreciated here!
